Reasons for Road Rage

Road rage as a phenomenon has gained strength in the last decade or so. Some reasons for road rage shows the frustrations of the drivers- Frustration that is not always built by the road condition but forces outside of this environment. Learning how to control road rage is of utmost importance as road rage can turn ugly very soon and can lead to disastrous consequences.

The problem does need to be addressed and soon. Innocent people are dying in the fray and it is not only the combatants who are involved. What people need to understand is that nothing is solved by road rage. They are not going to change people's behavior. Being calm and driving carefully will get you far unless somebody decides that things are going to be different.

The people caught in the process of committing road rage should be forced by court to go through a special course in Anger Management geared towards road rage. They have to understand that a better approach is staying calm and letting somebody by some time even if they are at fault. One way is to have court appointed professionals take care of people caught under road rage conditions. Regular anger management techniques should also be applied to teach people that anger hurts them as much as it does the other person.

Anger does not solve a problem, it just creates new ones. Road Rage needs to be understood more to get a grip on how to solve it. Some other reasons for road rage is caused because the other drivers drive with mobile phones in use. The motor vehicle code needs to be a little more stringent against drivers who have no respect for the other person's use of the road.

The DMV should also scrutinize its driving license policy. Drivers who drive too slowly on the freeways should also be ticketed. Basically that can easily be done and it will get results. There should also be a very heavy penalty and a person's driving privileges revoked if they are at fault in a road rage incident. Getting at people's pocketbooks is always a way of changing their behavior. Road Rage is a scourge of society and should be curbed strongly and immediately.

Road Rage is sometimes caused by people who are not mad about the road at all. If they are upset by anything they could get on the road and take out their frustrations somewhere else. And the road is a perfectly easy way to do it and sometimes the chances of getting away with a crime are good. People take the easy way if they can do it. The fact that they are already in a car and driving makes it that much more difficult to catch.

Putting more cameras on the roads may help catch these drivers. If they know that they are being filmed while they commit a crime will stop most of the cases. This may stop many more reasons for road rage.
